Arthur Linfoot

Arthur LinfootIn the mid-­1970s, Arthur Linfoot produced a typescript transcription of the daily entries for 16 June to 23 August 1916 inclusive, together with a more continuous typescript narrative headed “Battle of the Somme” covering the period 16 June to 8 August.

Arthur Linfoot’s own transcription of his daily diary entries is reproduced on this site interwoven with the more literal contemporary transcription by his son, Denis.
