Continuation of Anniversary. Pretty good services and the evening service well attended. Mr Chadwick thanked Blaikie and didn’t mention Willie, and Willie’s playing had * *. It thundered in church at night. We had short walk and went to Whittakers’ to supper. Talked until nearly 11 o’clock. Willie and Lily in to supper too.

20 June 1914; Saturday
Got up about 7.30. Finished about 1.30. Went up town with Charlie. Called at the Rudge shop and got a new brake. Got a bell at Halfords’. It thundered in the afternoon and shortly after tea. Read a good bit and had a walk with Joe last thing.
19 June 1914; Friday
Got up about 7.30. Ernie went away at 8.30. Busy all day at work. Mistake not found out. Stayed in at night. Thundered in the afternoon a bit. Read some of W.W. Jacobs’ novel.
18 June 1914; Thursday
Turned out at usual time. Stayed back at night. A mistake of about 8 or 10 tons in the stock and we were there until nearly 9.30 trying to find it but didn’t. Had short walk to the post office last thing with Ernie. Stocktaking completed.
17 June 1914; Wednesday
Got up at 5 o’clock and commenced work at 6. Busy all day and very sleepy. Went to Roker at night with Ernie and listened to the band of the Terriers1 and watched the crowd for a bit. Met Charlie and Dora. Got home about 10 o’clock. Fine night.

Got up about 5 o’clock and commenced work at 6 o’clock. Busy all day. Finished about 5 o’clock. Ernie and Father at Boldon.
15 June 1914; Monday
Busy at work. The stock sheets up. We didn’t work at night. Had walk with Ernie.
14 June 1914; Sunday
Sunday School Anniversary. Fine day. Mr Blaikie leading. Willie Marshall playing. Charlie sang a solo at night and a boy from St John’s Wesleyan choir sang two solos. He was very good. The service was successful. Good dinners at night. Decided to continue the service next week. Had walk at night with Ernie, Willie Whittaker, and Charlie. Sang the anthem “Send out thy light.”
13 June 1914; Saturday
Finished in good time. Went to the cricket match with Ernie and Father and saw Sunderland play against Chester-le-Street. Chester-le-Street were batting when we were at the match, and they won. Grand day. Had walk at night with Ernie.
