Got up about 6.30. Did some Pelman¹ and drilled². Fine morning. Went to class meeting and played. Called in practice later on. Walked round with Willie, Charlie and Blaikie.

At work as usual. Stayed in at night and finished off Pelman¹ set. Had walk last thing. Wrote to Ernie.

At work as usual. Busy all day. Went down to organ at night and got on very well. Read a bit Pelman¹ when I was there. Played better than I have done for a long time.

Got up about 7.30. Drilled. Fine morning. George brought the chocolates for the party. Finished in decent time. Bothered on with gas and did a bit Pelman¹. Got form filled in. Had walk to the post office last thing.

Got up about 7 o’clock. Busy all day. Mr Aitken away. Finished about 6 o’clock. Did a bit Pelman ¹ and read a bit. Went to the post office last thing. Uncle Ned and his wife, Aunt Bella, Aunt Esther etcetera in.

Got about in decent time. Busy all day. Had big discussion about the lessened trade and †industrial improvements†. Finished in decent time. Stayed at home and filled in Pelman papers. Went to post office last thing. A lot of strangers calling. Joe sat up with Father until about 4 o’clock. Father still improving. Minnie Bell called.
